a corporate value. From recycling to reusing to
reducing – awareness and action is important
throughout our business as we work to fulfill and
sustain our environmental commitment.

In August 2008, Amigo Mobility received Green Business Certification from the Institute for Green Business Certification.
Amigo’s sustainability achievements include:
Paper usage decreased in 2008 by 9.1%, and by 16% in 2009.
The powder coating process that we outsource locally uses a green powder coating process. No air pollutants or acidic chemicals are used. Lower heat is able to be used, which is less energy used. It also produces more durable, longer lasting parts.
Amigo’s packaging saves 626,000 sq-ft. of cardboard (1,200 pine trees per year).
The ValueShopper was recently introduced, which has a drive with increased efficiency and fewer maintenance parts; the drive went from 37 parts to 4 parts.
CHEP pallets: In October of 2008, we began shipping two Amigo shoppers on reusable CHEP pallets reducing freight costs, which eliminates need for second pallet and the need for store personnel to dispose of pallets. They are wrapped in recyclable shrink wrap. This also reduced freight costs by an average of 10%.
During the construction of our new building in 2009, we incorporated many reused items, and designed it to be environmentally friendly which will reduce our energy bills by at least 10%:
